“I’m a firm believer that we all have incredible superpowers that are waiting to be awakened.” Jim Kwik. This is a very true statement, and you can learn to uncover your superpowers in Jim Kwik’s book Limitless. He refers to them as superpowers because once you cultivate new talents and capabilities that everyone has within their mind and body, the new abilities you have developed seem like a superpower. Jim talks about unlocking one’s potential. Capabilities and talents are not born, they are built, and with the right mindset, tools, resources, and changes of perception and the way we live, we can unlock these superpowers.
Jim’s book Limitless teaches you how and he does it in a way that provides you with information to learn and teaches you how to learn and how to apply it in your life emotionally. It’s when emotions are attached to an idea or concept that they are retained.
In his book, you will learn techniques such as speed reading, improving memorization, improving sleep, eating a diet that increases your brain function, and accessing your brain’s full potential and capability. He also busts one of my favorite myths that I have always disagreed with based on research. And that is the myth that we only use 10% of our brain. As Jim explains, we use 100% of our brains. Analyzing brain activity demonstrates this; we are just not using it effectively.
I also enjoy his book because it applies adult learning theories in his approach. He doesn’t tell us what to learn as most self-help books do, but how to learn. His assignments throughout the book influence one to reflect and apply what they are learning. He empowers emotional attachment to what is being taught, and when emotions are attached, dopamine is released, the brain realizes that this information is needed for survival. Long-term memory of these new skills occurs, and there is a greater chance of obtaining the improved performance that we all need in our lives.
I guarantee anyone can grow from reading this book. I’m pumping through books quicker now using his speed reading techniques; I’m finally able to remember the names of those I meet, something I’ve struggled with my entire life. Get this book now; you will not regret it.
